Good day fellow members,
I'm new to this post and have a question about my 1997 Mark VIII LSC, if someone could be so kind as to help me out. First, I have to tell you that I am far from Mr. Goodwrench! My car just turned 19k miles, when I found that the starter went. I had a mechanic replace the starter and when he did, he found that my upper control arm bushings were almost gone from sitting. I had him replace the parts and when I got the car back, I found that I had no air conditioning. I checked around under the hood for any unplugged connections or vacuum hoses but found none. The mechanic came back over to my house and checked too but found nothing. I placed my hand on the refrigerant tube and it is ice cold however, the air coming out of the vents inside is hot. He told me it is probably a blend door actuator but has no idea how to replace it. Is there member (besides a Lincoln Dealership) in the Berlin, Voorhees, Cherry Hill area that knows about this problem that might be able to take a look at the car and possibly repair it?

Thanks!

It most likely is the blend door actuator. Common problem on the 2nd gen cars. Usually when the actuator breaks, it sticks on the cold side, but can happen either way. Search on this site in the Mark VIII forums for blend door actuator. It's been discussed many times. Also on MarkVIII.org I think , there is a good write up about fixing it, with pics.
