Blinking Red Security Light While Driving

So this has only happened once or twice, but the security light on the dash of my LS one night started blinking repeatedly at varying tempos, and then eventually stopped. Normally it only blinks while its parked and locked and it stays at the same tempo. I was worried it was going to shut off the car or something! Any ideas why it would go on while driving? If it were a problem with the security feature on the key, the car wouldnt have even turned on.

It's indicating a problem with the PATS module (cluster), transceiver, or the key.

It won't shut down a running car. It will only prevent starting one if the problem is present when you try to start it.

The light flashes out two digit codes. Knowing which code it was flashing out would help with diagnosing the problem.

next time it starts blinking, count the flashes to see which code its flashing out

for example, if it goes flash, flash, pause, flash, flash, flash, pause repeate.
that is a code 25.
