Blower motor compatability Gen1 - Gen2

Hi, does anyone know if a blower motor out of a Gen 1, will work in a Gen 2? and vice versa. Thanks for input.

I know the gen 2 blower motor assembly won't fit in a gen 1 housing without modification. The blower wheel on the gen 2 is slightly deeper. The 2nd gen blowers move more air than 1st gens, but only because of the wheel I think. I believe the actual motors are the same, but not 100% sure. Someone will chime in on this I'm sure.

The only thing I've read is that Gen 2's blower is superior to Gen 1's. Don't know about compatibility though.

i want to stuff a gen 2 blower fan in my gen 1.
some if someone could figure out how and let me know,
but i think the motor itself is the same..
