got coolant squirting out between the head and block. and overheating. 155K
so i want to get a engine out of a 99-02 because they have the c heads. from my understanding the only difference in the engines is the heads, and the intake not having runner controls. so can i use a 99-02 engine in my 98?

or can i, rebuild and use the c heads, with the c head intake, on my 98 block?

Man, you just don't catch a break!

Since complete engines for these cars seem to go for around $500, I'd go that route. While I can't speak from experience on these cars the engine differences seem so small that you should be able to put in a newer low-mile engine without changing much. If any sensors or controls changed you could use the corresponding parts from the old engine on the new to keep the computer happy.
