Since its been in storage on colder days i've noticed some blue smoke on startup. It was fine when it was warmish out (60+). Idles fine, runs fine. The dipstick shows full, always has.

Only thing worth mentioning is that when it is warm out it smells like gas on startup, no smoke...Though i cut my muffs off so perhaps it lingering under the car??idk.

As far as i know it has original o2's,egr, ect..

It's valve stem seals leaking a few drops of oil into the combustion chamber. I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets real bad.

+1, I have an older 88 GMC truck that does the same thing at start up. After it warms up, it quits but it's only the valve seals that need to be changed. Still has all of it's power so I'm not even worried about it. I only drive it in the rain anyway so that the Mark can stay in the garage out of the rain.

If I let the truck set for a long time without starting it, I could easily use it to kill mosquito's through the whole neighborhood. Next door neighbors hate it when I start it up. I'm sure the smoke you're seeing is nothing like what I could show you.

is it the coldness that is shrinking the seals perhaps? thus letting it leak alittle..

Pick up some Auto RX... get that engine clean and your seals healthy.

Otherwise lack of driving the car is never good... drive that car.

I'm sure it's helping a little but also if it's not being cranked up as much now, it gives more time for the oil to slowly seep into the combustion chambers. What type of oil do you use?

i figured as much. And i think i have 5-30 in there.

I cant..Gotta come up with reg and ins money..Havnt driven it for a month...She's prob being a bitch cause ive been driving a chevy.

You might want to try what the Kid suggested because we all know you don't want to attempt a valve seal replacement while that engine is in the car. 5W30 is what I use too but I had to come away from the fully synthetic because it tends to leak after setting for a few days. I swapped over to Mobile 1 clean 5000 and now it can set for a week and not leak a drop. I know you didn't mention having fully synthetic in it but just in case.

Your seals need some rejuvenation before it sets up for the winter. Now is the time while it's still fairly warm out.

well i admit im running super tech oil... But have for acouple oil changes now and never noticed the smoking before. Even last winter i dont recall it smoking while in storage.

Its not showing any loss on the dip stick so i can live with it...I'll look more into it once i start driveing it regularly again.

Yeah it's just a couple of drops, you can safely forget about it for a while.
