After my last disappointing visit to the chop shop, a few disheartening realities became apparent to me. Namely, Continentals were not designed for exhaust modification...and the number of modifications you can actually achieve with suitable results is not very promising.
So after several frowns and groans, I returned my fancy new stainless steel mufflers and piping since I don't know anybody around town who isn't completely lazy and won't give me excuses for not doing custom work. Having very little knowledge of welding myself, let alone the materials and lifts required...I had to scrap my old plans.
Now, perhaps foolishly so, I plan to do something a bit different and less drastic. Basically, I want a tonal change, and a subtle one at that; enough so that it's noticeable, but not completely barbaric. I plan on putting in a new high flow cat (since apparently I can get reported by any mechanic that notices it's gone), possibly a new resonator (I need more information on whether I should do that), and the choice of either two Magnaflow 11124's, or two Borla 40357's (spacer required for those).
I know a little about Magnaflows, and I know they're suggested for Continentals, but I know even less about Borla. I want to hear from someone that has heard, or has owned one or the other.
