So since I found out I was lied to (big suprise) and my car does not have Borlas but has some Ravin mufflers I am going to change them. I like their sound but since I need new exhaust tips (thanks fat bitch) and their outlets are offset and they seem to be rusted inside I am just going to swap them out.

Anyone here hear the Borla XS Pros? I think I will get them with the SCP x-resonator (want the car fairly quiet) and some Pypes tips like DLF has.

Dont want Dronemasters, dont like LMS tips, like the SCP tips but dont want a muffler with a 2.25" inlet.
I just want a mellow deep tone that makes some noise at WOT. :)

I was lookin' for Borlas when I had the SS exhaust made for the '93 but the installer couldn't find them, so we went with Hooker Maximum Flows.

Very similar in size and performance without the bling.

I'd recommend against the Borla's. I've had some Pro XS mufflers on my SC (first 2 pics) for a little over 4 years, and this is what they look like now. :(

The car doesn't get driven in bad conditions.

And, I'm quite pleased with the sound of the Magnaflows that I have on my LSC (last 2 pics).

LOL... the only guy I know who complains his 4 year old mufflers are showing age. :p

Magnaflows? Not quite as high in performance rankings but they do sound sweet on a Mark VIII. ;)

BTW, I paid $95.04 for the Magnaflow 14386 X-Pipe resonator and $76.13 ea for the two Magnaflow 14211 rear mufflers, shipped from Performance Peddler.

Looks like the current prices are $99.64 and $79.76, with free shipping. :)

I have a wholesale code you can use there. ;)

304 SS shouldn't look like that after 4 years, they used something in the welds other than a 309 filler.

So which has a deeper tone? The Borla or Mags? Eaither raspy? If longevity wasnt an issue which is better?

The SC is a V6, so it's hard to compare, but I don't like the sound of the Borla's (a bit raspy), which is why I went with the Magnaflows on the LSC.

I've gotten a few compliments on the Magnaflows I have. I have stock exhaust with just the rear mufflers replaced with Magnaflow Race Series with tip (14851.) They can be used on 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" pipe as the pass through is the bigger size. They have a nice deep rumble at idle (a hair quieter than what I wanted, but nice.) When you open them up, especially when the irmcs open they sound great, though again a tiny bit quieter than I hoped. You can still hear me coming or going though, a good sound for a Lincoln imho ;)

Thanks! I've been telling everyone it sounded good, now I can prove it! :D
That does sound sweet! I also love the Borla clip on Youtube another guy has. Decisions decisions. Guess its a toss up. The Borlas are cheaper but the Magnaflows have a deeper tone at WOT. They both seem close at idle although I think in the youtube clip the guy has an x-pipe and I will be running the x-resonator.

Buy Geno lincolnmotorsports mufflers

I put the Magnaflow x muffler in place of my h-pipe Friday. It was straight -piped from the cats back. It's about 3X quieter than I thought it would be. It sounded RAWR wide open but now it sounds about 2 notches up from stock. For what it is, it muffles well. I'm considering burning the insides out to get some of my balls back!

That muffler have a x pipe in it. U could also go with a flowmaster dual in dual out muffler.

When you also have the rear mufflers and cats it is better to get the smallest dual in/out muffler (I belive 14" body) and separate x-pipe to prevent it from being too quiet if you want some noise and want to use 3 mufflers

You lost me, I just have the one magnaflow, it was wide open with an H. The H sounded like ass compared to an X. I fixed that. I don't see how putting more mufflers on it would make it louder? I may have misunderstood.
I got the short one, i'm so used to driving with nothing but pipes & an X or H, that the muffler sounds too quiet in the car. I just took a vid & now see that it's actually pretty loud out back. Maybe my neighbors won't hate me so much now.:)

The Magnaflow 14386 I used is a 14" body (they do make an 11" body though, 14379). I don't see the need for another x-pipe though, the 14386 has a built in x-pipe.

Then it is the 11", was not sure on the size without going to magnaflows web site, the 11" I believe does not have the built in x, that is why I mentioned that type of install.

Personally, I dont like the way rear muffler cars sound, mine included, that is why I usually opt for a mid muffler and no rear mufflers, but with no cats it is loud.

It would appear that you are correct about the Magnaflow 14379 not having the Tru-X core.
