You know you are from Boscobel if you have hit at least 3 deer...

You give directions by where other people live not street names..

You don't know what the street names are except your own..

A few fackts about Beardstown.


1. One of the oldest towns in Illinois

2. Abraham Lincoln practiced law here and fought one of his most famous cases in the courthouse on our square.

3. My buddy owns an old boarding house that lincoln stayed in while in town. (got the records to prove it)

4. We grow alot of corn, beans, and ALOT of pigs. Not as many cows, but a few.

5. Mile 88 on the Illinois river

6. Famous for our sandy, watermellon producing soil

7. I can drive ~15 miles miles in every direction and not see nothing but corn fields.

But once every couple of years a city slicker shoots one thinking it was a deer.

If you have a Wal-Mart or McDonalds 30 miles in every directions you may live in Boscobel...

If a 10 min traffic jam is caused by 2 farmers in there big desile trucks stopped in the middle of downtown talking about nothing. You may live in Boscobel.

If you know someone who has married their cousin you may live in Boscobel..
