I had been searching (and lurking here) for around 3 months for LS that had everything I wanted for the right price . I bought it yesterday and will post pictures in my gallery soon. It’s a 2004 V8 in blue with the DVD navigation and THX surround sound.

I want to keep it in great condition. What do you guys use to clean and take care of the leather? Should I get seat covers to protect the seats?

I think my first modification is going to be the LSE grille and a PIE Ipod to Satellite adaptor.

Any other newbie LS owner tips?

Thanks!

Jonathan

Bring it back?

At least you have a warranty still. Just pray that everything that breaks, will break within warranty!

Ha ha ha. I will be sure not to abuse my wiper motors, i.e. using them to clean the snow off the windshield. Come on, you know you did! :p

there was no snow yesterday. it was rather nice out actually, with a few brief rain showers where i founf out that the wipers dont work....sigh....

Here are some the pictures. The color is True Blue Metallic (thanks Ken :)) but its was very cloudy when I took this and looks like a grey or black in the front.

V-8, If that’s the only problem you had in the 5 years you have owned the car, I would say its been pretty good to you. I traded in my 2000 Volvo S80 T6 when I got my Lincoln. In the 3 years I owned the S80 I had this stuff replaced:

Right Rear Door Lock
Gas Door Lock (Dead, this was fun because I was almost out of gas when it happened)
Radiator Fan (Recalled, failed before the recall however)
Transmission ($4,500 installed!)
Sun Roof (Alignment)

And many more little things (that added up). Not to mention the crazy prices for the "imported" parts (its a Ford too damn it!) and the high regular maintenance prices. I was lucky though. I had bought a $1,700 dollar warranty when I got the car. Everything above was covered. Best money I have ever spent. I really loved that car through all that.

I wish the wiper deal was my only problem.

Lets see, ive had the car for about a year now (april 14th):

Wipers, dead (dont know why)
Horn, dead ....STILL! (dont know why)

Alternator and Battery (thankfully on warranty)

and THREE accidents, 2 of them being MAJOR, over $16k in damage.

Lets just say, it hasnt been a fun experience, and i still have 5 more years to pay off!

Did the wipers stop working after the 2nd or 3rd accident? If the horn had worked...

Sorry had to say that. :D

Day 2 of my LS and I still love it!

watch out for day 6, i think thats when i got cut off....lol!

I see your from MA. I actually got into my last accident on Rt125 in Andover.

Nice. I was zooming the down Andover portion 125 last night going, oh I don't know, 90-100 mph. Its right near my house. I checked for cops the first pass, then the next few I went to town. I slowed down for the state police barracks though :)

yeah, definetly look out for the police barracks, lol
