HERES THE STORY,

So i got new tires and allighnment 6 months ago,

And ive noticed over the seven months that the tires have balded to the edge, to a point were there is no tread,

I took it up to firestone last night to get my car checked out, and the guy up there says ok, leave the car well call you back.
30 min later i get a call,
them "we got your car up and it looks like the tires have been melted"
me "na i havent been doing any of that"
them"well its obviosly been run hard,"
me "why is that so obvious?"
them: "well, you take it to the race track"
me thinking to myself " o :q:q:q:q i forgot to pull the numbers off my car from the track"

I just refused ever going to the track and asked them what that has to do with anything.

(heres where the story starts to make sence

They then tell me that the car has been ran 30,000 miles since i last took it in... I kinda chuckled and go, are you serious?
30k miles in 6 months you have got to be kidding me, im 17

so i go back in with the title that says i purchased the car at 97k miles so after all that the guy goes out to take a look at the car,

?He says ya see here there is even tread over the whole tire,
me: you can obviously see that it is not even tread
him" we measured it its even
Me: look (points to the tire) i cant put my hand in this tread, but yet... my hand goes about 1/4 in. into this tread?
him: umm (with the stupidest looki ive ever seen."
me: yea thats right now go fix my car
Him: well we cant because the tires are to bald
Me: them give me new tires because you messed up the old ones
him: we didnt mess em up you did
me: i brought my car in here to get it alligned with new tires, isnt your job to fix peoples cars??? you :q:q:q:qed up my car you fix it!!
him: please sir no profanity
me: is your job to fix peoples cars yes or no???
him: NO well kinda yes
me: thinking (is this guy serious?)
him: all we can do is offer you a free allighnment and you buy brand new tires.
me: no your going to give me a free allignment and ill decide weather i want to buy new tires or no
him: we cant allign bald tires
me: do you think im stupid?? IM 17 and its obvious that i know more about car work than you, did you go to school for this or do they just give any half ass off the street a job messing peoples cars up?
him:well umm, im gunna go get my manager
Manager: well fix your car

I go home with a phone call an hour later saying, well give you free instalation free allignment, and 50 percent off tires.
i agree, 200 bucks for all that isnt bad right?

I got up there drove home the car felt right, i got out and look to see. they put the damn wheels on backwards (normally this wouldnt bother me but these were directional tires)

so im pissed obviously they dont hire good employees so they just lost another customer,

help my LVC by boycotting firestone

DOWN WITH FIRESTONE

Seems like this is an issue with your Firestone. So OK I will boycott the St. Louis Firestone.
 
I just take it to this shop called Tires by TONY, and they are really good in there. They know what they are doing, they are funny and reliable.

Sorry to hear about how much a pain in the ass those guys were.
 
My firestone is OK. But when I had my DR's mounted, the guy said that I have a pinhole in it, so i was like.. well patch it. And you'll never guess what he said....... "slime it, itll be OK".
 
wow, your an ass. you burnt out on your tires, you know you did, i know you did, and yet you yell at them for something you did, that is not covered under your warrenty, and in reality does not need to be pro rated. if you came into my store i would have laughed in your face and told you to f-off.
 
I had an issue with a Just tires store. Not only did they put 4 left side gator-backs on my wife's Mustang they argued about it not mattering until I forced the jacka$$ to call Goodyear and get that statement in writing. He stated they always put on only lefts. The Goodyear Rep laughed and started off by saying why the hell do you think we put Left and right on the tire along with directional arrows? Are you a certified Goodyear installer, if not why are you touching my tires? Put the right ones on and give the guy a free alignment and stop wasting my time with basic tire 101 questions you should have known before you even thought about taking off a lug nut. By the way Goodyear owns and trains the techs/managers at Just Tires!
--I wonder about all those poor morons who are clueless and drive away thinking they have 4 perfectly new Directional tires. I see a class action suit in their future...

Oh and I had to stop the tech from using an impact wrench on the lugs, not only the first time in but the 2nd time as well. I had to actually give him my torque wrench, they did not have a single one in an 8 bay shop. They used torque stick sometimes, but they did not what color corresponded to what torque setting. sigh...

I had to switch tire shops as the last one blew out the air lines in my Mark - cost them big time and the manager got fired, not because of me but because he failed to report he damaged to HQ and lied they they even worked on the car - duh had the recpt with the Tech's name and he even wrote on it Forgot to t.off air ride - get check air ride message now.

Thanks for letting me vent in your thread. i will boycott your Firestore if you do the same for Just tires, if they dont have a torque wrench in the shop!
 
Yup... sounds like they get the Autozone Reject......

Wonder how many accidents were caused by morons like that.

People ask me why do you do your own work.. don't you want it done right...

I took my 95 Dodge In-Crapid in to our local Dodge Crap Dealer once because the tranny was acting up. Wouldn't shift..

They flushed the tranny and said it's all right now. Wife drove it down the road and tranny dropped.. They talk me into putting a used tranny in. 5 months later tranny is acting up. They said they's look into it. Told me tranny is fine. Wife picks up car few miles down the road tranny drops...

Would not replace the tranny would not do anything...

Rich that sux. sounds like they used wrong fluid or filter.
 
i dont know if i wanna bring my car in to get the tires and wheels done right or just switch em up on my own????

would it really matter if the tires were not pointing the right direction, i know it would decrease traction, espeacially in water, but by how much
 
Yeah the guy at Farm & Fleet put two of my directional tires on backwards and I told him. He had to unmount and remount the tires. He was cool about it though so I had no problem.

yes!!! thats why they are directional it causes many probs if you run them backwards ive seen people rotate them and have them all screwed up, ive seem excessice noise, cupping and even pulls due to stupid people
 
You're going to hydroplane crazy with directional tires installed improperly as the water will have nowhere to go.
