Last time I changed my front pads was about 6 months ago. Shaved the rotors at that time as well. Must have been 3rd time they were shaved since I've had the car since late '99. A couple of days later I noticed a very low creaking noise coming from front end only when I applied the brakes after the car was running for about a half hour. Now the creaking noise is loud and it doesn't even wait for warm up either. Its not low pads cause I know the grinding noise that creates. This is more like creaking for the entire time I'm apllying the brakes. Fluid level is good. No groves in rotors. Are my rotors too thin cause of the shaving and this creates this annoying sound. The pads are motorcraft, but are they defective? Or even worse is it coming from my booster? :Bang Anyone have this issue with this car or other before? thanx in advance :Beer

I would have to guess you got them too thin and they are probably warpped. The min. on the front rotors is 1.10" and the rear is .728". Sorry to say but stock or OEM replacements dont have much stock on them now days, you are lucky if u can get one turn down on most stock rotors. Good luck!

by turn do you mean shave? I'm not a mechanic. My freind does it at his shop. They've been shaved before due to squeaking. Don't wanna add more $ to this $ pit and buy new rotors if that won't fix problem.

yes...he means the same thing as you do. It's called "turning the rotors", "machining the rotors", etc.

I would be worried about how thin they cut the rotors. I don't think there's enough material to cut those things three times and still be above minimums. Especially since Ford calls for a final cut of .008. It may not have anything to do with your noise, but I would be pulling the tires and measuring my rotors for sure!!

And by the way...if you paid a shop to do the work...and they cut the rotors below minimums, I would raise holy hell. That is just not safe...and the rotors have the minimums cast right into the hub. No excuse for that.
