i have a 2000 LS V8 and im going to replace the break pads along with maybe the rotors....
anyone have any comments on which is better?? drilled? or slotted? or both
or should i just go with the OEM?
also anywhere i can find break pads for a decent price?
or is ebay my only option?
i would appreciate the help :)

I just installed power slot rotors and hawk HPS pads recently , but yet have enough mileage on them to give real feedback. I do know that you can't go wrong with the slotted only because of the problems people had with cracking in the drilled/slotted rotors.

You can find pretty decent deals on ebay but I usually don't like spending anymore than $100 on an item I can't see/inspect in person. Plus, the haggle of trying to return it and/or shipping costs. I just try to find everything local.

All together I spent about ~550 on my setup. Just a FYI incase you were looking to go that route. I'll try to post up pics in a few days when I get a chance.

Dead President,
Like to see the pix and wonder what kind of enhanced breaking performance did you achieve with your new set up? Linconlov

I'll try to get pics by this weekend, but I'm pretty busy up until then. I'll be sure to make a new thread with pics and how they compare to stock.

I just replaced with oem rotors all around, and upgraded to bosch ceramics on the front. Total for front/rears and all hardware, lube, ect. was $300.00 and they had everything the next day at murrays. Im up in the port huron area although i work in warren, but my uncle lived in GC. Murray's will also loan you the rotor tool and a decent torque wrench if you dont already have one (for the wheels when putting it back together, you dont want to over tighten a bolt and warp your new rotors.)
