When the brakes are applied with the ignition on and engine not running, or with the engine running and car at a standstill, the brake warning light comes on for a second and then goes out, and then the anti-lock light comes on for a second and then also goes out. Neither light comes on when the car is moving regardless of speed. The brakes work fine. Any ideas?

The pressure switch is detecting a low pressure situation, which usually means a weak accumulator in your brakes. The accumulators job is to store energy so that the hydraulic pump motor doesn't have to run that much. If it is allowed to continue, it WILL take out the pressure switch and relay.

I don't sell these parts, but if I were you, I'd e-mail torrie@fordpartsnetwork for an affordable price on this. To learn more about your teves brake system, click on this link:

You were right. put a new accumulator on this AM and all is fine. I also bought the pressure switch and relay but I'll save them until actually needed. Many thanx for your help!
