I've just finished listening to excerpts of Prez Bush's morning meeting with the press corps. He was straightforward, honest, and unruffled. He wasn't bothered by the attempts to 'catch' him and directly answered such questions as 'what errors he'd made'.

And then I checked some of the media comments. The consensus seems to be that he 'defended' himself. I saw no attempt at defense of any sort. But that's as good a reason as exists for recognizing the overwhelming dishonesty of the political media, secular progressives, and wish-it-were-so liberals.

Charles Krauthammer, the noted Writer, Columnist, and Psychiatrist calls this illness 'Bush Derangement Syndrome'. It seems to come from living in an ivory tower. Or at least from keeping one's eyes shut and fingers in the ears while going, 'lalalalalalalalalala'.

When the honest history is recorded, it'll show us a man who eventually found himself with an almost singular focus on keeping Americans safe. That protection from a threat, a threat some idiots would like to claim is "made up", was the his priority and everything else, political, social, partisan, even personal, took a backseat.

I think he's leaving office secure knowing that the country was safe during his two terms. That he's confident that he made the decisions he felt were best for the country based on the information available. And that while he had intended to "change the tone" and move a different social agenda- it simply took a back seat to the issue of national security. Even engaging in the day to day bickering with the adversarial liberal media was petty and avoided when compared to the real threats this country is facing.

The man has aged 25 years since taking office.
I have a great deal of respect for him.
I'm sure he'll take a couple years off from the spotlight unlike that needy, fatherless, political animal Clinton with his constant attention-seeking behavior.
