buzzing noise from trans?

I thought it was a tire but all four looked ok. Got under it and heard a buzzing noise from the trans. Wherever its from its related to wheel speed, about 30 mph a noise like an off-road tire with real agressive tread "buzzing/whining" starts and gets worse as speed increases. If i downshift to 4th the buz stays the same while the drivetrain noise changes, so I know its not engine/accessory noise. Ive read that some trans failures were made worse by ignoring signs of damage. Should i be driving it still?

since nobody chimed in, take it to trans shop. yes, i wouldn't drive if you suspect transmission. get an opinion.

it could be a wheel bearing to- just a thought? I had my car sound like a lawn mower at highway speeds and I listened closely and it was first a front then after that my rear went

I get to change yet another wheel bearing. This will be the third time I've changed one.
