Hi Everyone,

I found a great deal on first gen doors complete (same colour - pearl white). I haven't put them up to my M8 to see if they match (would think pearl white is the same for 1st & 2nd Gen's, no?)

The doors are rust free. When I bought my M8 3 years ago, they already had a bit of rust and I would like to swap the 1st Gen doors into my 2nd Gen.

The first thing I noticed is that 1st door guard has a chrome strip in it. My 2nd Gen does not. So I would have to swap that from my doors to the 1st Gen's doors. I believe these would fit, but haven't tried before.

Is there anything else that needs to be swapped or modded or is the everything else plug and play?

Thanks in advance!

Doors will swap
The interior handle mounts different
Gen 2 outside handle is better quality

And the interior door handles are chrome instead of interior colored

Thanks Guys!

So I can swap the interior door handle to color, to keep stock look correct?

With the interior handle mounting different, does that mean I have to use 1st Gen interior door panel ? Or will 2nd Gen swap into 1st Gen with mod?

I would think it best to swap my exterior handles so my key would work (i would think that is all one unit?)

The wire harnesses for locks, windows, seat memory, fuel door, trunk release are all the same?

All computer modules mount the same? I wouldn't think they are all the same, but would make this easier.

The handle mounts to the sheet metal of the door. You will need to drill new holes if you want a Gen 1 handle on a Gen 2 door or the other way around.
