So i am on my way to work and i come to a stoplight and the engine dies.
All the electronics work, engine turns over but does not start.
From what I saw on the tipminder screen:
Check Trac. Control
Trac. Control Error
Fuel Flow Error

that is what i saw shortly after the engine died. i was more worried with getting the car out of the middle of 3 o clock traffic then seeing what the tripminder says.

after a few moments of fussing around i got the car into neutral and pushed it to the side, called tow truck, its at the shop tonight.

what do you think it is? when the engine turned over it did so very fast, like there was no compression (fuel flow error?) i did not check the schrader valve on the fuel rail since i didnt think about it right away.

thanks guys,
shaun

uh i hate to ruin your week but if there is no compression and it turns over really fast hrmm..... your timing chain could of broke and if thats the prob then you need a new motor since it is an interference eng sorry:(

I wouldn't think it would turn at all with a broken chain, wouldn't there be cylinders with both valves closed?? (lot's of compression)
Maybe just the fuel pump/circut ??
I don't honestly know, I'm thinking from differant cars, so...

my guess (going on supplied info), is the fuel pump. You will have some compression even with a broken chain. There will be one or 2 cylinders with a good set of valves closed.

went to the shop this morning.
he said that it started twice for him last night so he ordered the crank position sensor and cam position sensor.
i am going to have them replace the fuel filter and do a tranny tune up while they have it. :D
made me feel a lot better before going into work
