My lighter or whatever its called stopped working. I pushed in the lighter and when it jumped, I did hold it down till it got red as I needed to burn something. I did the job, but after that I tried to charge my cell and it doesnt work
First bet would be a fuse I guess. Has anyone gone throught this? Which fuse is it ??

THanks for helping ! Ima go downstairs right now to check. If I use a 25a or 30a fuse, would that help my lighter light up better? cause it never gets red hot unless I hold it down for a little while.

fixed ! thanks man. I used one of those space fuses the car has !

You're not supposed to hold it down longer than it would do it on it's own. That's why you blew the fuse in the first place. If you put a higher amp fuse in place of the 20A, you're most likely looking at burning up the wiring for the lighter socket which can lead to your car in flames.

If you need a lighter, I think I have an extra Zippo laying around you can have. Rather that than you roasting marshmallows over your car. :p

FYI - The front "cigar lighter" and rear console "accessory power supply" are on separate fuses. I thought there was something wrong with my front lighter wiring because the rear receptacle worked. Nope. It was just a blown fuse. Easy & fast. The way I like 'em! ;)

+1000

pack of smokes $5
BIC lighter $1.50
not having to call your insurance to tell them that you firebombed your own car: Priceless

where is this accessory power supply fuse

It is all in the owners manual, if you don't have one down load it from TECH Articles at the top of the page, see post #2.

Right. I've looked in the manual. The only one i have replaced before is #32 and it is the 20A fuse. And after searching I came across this thread and read about this "accessory power supply"

Gen I page 180 of the manual

10 20A* Powerpoint

Gen II, page 228

10 20A* Power point - console
12 20A* Power point - ashtray

Joegr that spoon of your of yours gets a lot of use. I hope people appreciate it.

Thanks for the GenII fuse location Joegr.

I was on vacation this past weekend and realized while on the road I blew both fuses #10 & #12 a few weekends earlier while using an electric motor to blow up rafts for river floating.

Anyway, the pregnant wife and I got on the road heading for a weekend in the Rockies..went to plug the ipod in and no power. Of course I dont have the owners manuel and finding it on the old iphone isnt as easy as one may think..especially on the fly with a preggo wife!

A quick look on this site and a stop at the gas station, paid $1.25/fuse and we were happily rockin out on our tour through the mountains!

Just thought I'd share a quick story how you guys helped me with my LS once again :)

top of this page, click where it says "tech articles", then scroll down to where you see "Lincoln Tech – Lincoln LS" then scroll down a little further to where it says "03" or "04 Lincoln LS Owners Manual (PDF)"

download and enjoy.
