Car problems

So yesterday when I went out for lunch I made it to the end of my street then I pressed the gas and nothing was happening I proceeded I turn off the road as I was rolling. Steering was gone then brakes were gone ( figured car shut off). The car wouldn't start waited 40 mins car started but sputtered like it wasn't getting enough gas to the engine. Any idea what the problem is? If you know can you tell me the Aprox price.

Fuel pump/system fault or bug on the MAF are the two most likely causes for your symptoms.
