Looking for your expertise again friends. 2000 lincoln ls v6, 130k miles, I'm sick of the car pulling to the left in the left lane, and to the right in the right lane when I'm on the highway. Tires have about 3000 miles on them, I have had alignments done twice in the last 3 years and it has not helped.

I have read this model has ball joint problems. Is it enough to ask my mechanic to tighten the ball joints? What else can I do. Thank you.

Richie

You can't tighten them. If they have play, then you have to replace them. Be sure to check the rear toe links. They sometimes get missed, and they can cause the problem you have. They also seem to be bad about wearing out.

take it to a shop and have it checked out to find what the actual problem is.

I've had the rear toe links replaced to fix that problem.

also dont ask th eguy at teh shop if he can tighten the ball joints, next think you know he will be telling you that you also need to have you blinker fluid flushed and probably that your johnson rod is shot and need to be replaced...

Most roads have a crown to them for proper water drainage.

That said, is it always or just on certain roads? I get a pull at times, usually to the left, that has to be road crown as it doesn't happen all the time. Like you, it also depends on which lane I'm in.

If it's not the toe links......does it happen on every road...how's the crowns on the roads you travel.
