cat problem

I have been having this problem for a few weeks now. I drive my 96 (with 112,000 miles) quite a bit every day. If I drive the car a lot then turn it off and let it sit for a few minutes, when I start it up again it idles very rough, so rough that it dies about half the time. I have to keep it revved a little with my foot to get it into gear. This doesn't happen when I start the car for the first time of the day, or if I only drive it a little. It only happens when I start/stop it a bunch of times and do a lot of driving. I was just wondering if this is due to my cats being clogged, because that is what someone told me. Any help is appreciated. Oh BTW I had the codes pulled a few weeks ago and it spat out "Random/Multiple cylinder misfire"

replace plugs and wires, and perhaps coil packs too. Thats about the same problem i had with mine a while back, got the plugs and wires changed out, and ZAP! problem solved.
