I have ICOM radios. One handhel and dual band mobile in my SHO. I have the Diamond antenna setup. I can fold into the trunk when not in use.

N1NIO

2m-440Mhz, they are both capable of extended recieve though.

Acually both are dual band. I do not work 10 meters, not yet at least.

10 meter is nothing special, basically its cb with diff freqs. ims sick of working off 10m exspecially aroound here. i needa get my tiket so i can work off the 2m repeaters. next texs around here is sept 23. long wait. i hate cb, i hate 10m i need to work something legit, somethiung were i dont got guys next town over running 5kw trying to make a contact 50 miles away and splashing me on on 240 channels. im gonnna get a yaseu 2800m 5w, 10w, 25w, and 65w. hopefully the spectrum will be clear so i can make a qso on 65w without a linear

I'm mostly using marine VHF on boats around here, have two new UNIDEN units on the trawler with lots of cool features and some handhelds for the small boats. CB is pretty dead in this area.

I'm starting up with the Coast Guard Aux but you need to complete an OPCOM course before they let you on the Coast Guard channels with the repeaters, they don't want everyone up and down the coast hearing you screw up! You can stand radio watches for the Coast Guard and operate the radio on patrols and operations.

Use some SSB, but that's only when you get way offshore.
