I have six cd's in the changer and can't get them to eject. Saw in another post a reference to an "eject all" feature. Not sure how to do that. Any suggestions as to how to remove the cd's. btw they won't play at this point either.

Hmm, i remember once my cd got stuck, because it had a label that i made which made it thicker so hence the "stuck in the player", are your cd's labeled? because i know that the ls cd player only accepts cds are a certain thickness.

Quote: "CD units are designed to play commercially pressed 12 cm (4.75
in) audio compact discs only. Due to technical incompatibility,
certain recordable and re-recordable compact discs may not
function correctly when used in Ford CD players. Irregular
shaped CDs, CDs with a scratch protection film attached, and CDs
with homemade paper (adhesive) labels should not be inserted
into the CD player. The label may peel and cause the CD to
become jammed. It is recommended that homemade CDs be
identified with permanent felt tip marker rather than adhesive
labels. Ball point pens may damage CDs. Please contact your
dealer for further information."

To remove it just use some tweezers or slightly push around the stuck cd with another cd, it usually gets stuck on the way out.

Eject All

Per the 2004 Owner's Manual, press and hold the Eject button to eject all of the CDs.

The eject all didn't work. Still get the error message. None of the discs has a label. All were store bought music cd's. Is there a way to get the door to the drive to open? I can't get it to let me load or eject in any of the six positions.

was a cd in process of being ejected? I've had a few about to be ejected and they got stuck on their way out. similar to what lex said, it was a label. you're saying the cd slot is shut?

Had the exact problem on a 2002 I rented before I bought my own.

There is a tensioner that is supposed to hold the cd down to the rubber wheels that spit it out but it sometimes fails. You have to get above the cd and push down to get it back on the wheels.

This is what I did:

To get it to try to eject again with out given the error right away you are going to have to either pull the radio fuse and put it back in, or the 2nd time it happened to me I just kept trying to load and switch from radio back to cd, the igniton on and off; just confuse it. Then, take a small flat screwdriver and stick it in the opening above where the cd is. Just angle it up like 15 degrees inside the opening. Once you hear the motor, just tap down with the screwdriver. You will make contact with the top of the cd and put it back on the rubber wheels that spit it out. You have to keep taping down, then releasing, then tap again and it will come far out enough. A tweezer will definately kill the cd. That's what I tried first.

Good luck

add'l question- does the cd system play CD-Rs? I burned one, and was surprised it couldn't be played- gave me a 'bad cd' error.

The CD door will open as it trys to eject again, once you reset it via the fuse or the other way.

This happend to me with a burned cd a few months back, the door was stuck open and the cd was trying to eject, just used a key to poke at it and it popped out, didn't ever put that cd back in and haven't had a prob since...

Mine plays all my burned cds, but haven't tested a re-writeable one yet, dunno that it would be any different.

Tried everything so far with no luck. At this point I would just like to be able to remove the CD's. Any other ideas?

I play CD-R all the time but have never been able to play CD-RW. Check to see if you have a CD-RW.

u can play any kind of cd.. cdrw cdr, as long as u completely close the session.. if u leave the session open, player wont play the cd's..

the only luck i had with gettin cd's out after they have been stuck in customers cars.. is removing the radio. taking the top cover off. u need a pretty small torq bit for it. and physically moving the cd trays up and down. i dont think i had enough room to pull the cd's out the top.. but moving the trays around and flipping it upside down a couple times(lol) was enough to get it goin again..

Ditto

Have you tried pulling the fuse or disconnecting the battery? Power back up and hit eject and it will try. That is when you can use the small screwdriver.
