I just bought a 2003 LS with a in-dash CD player located behind the navigation system screen. When I load up my CD-R's, about half the time I get a "CD Error" when I try to change discs. Works fine otherwise. I suspect is has something to do with the CD-R's being too thick??? Anyone have this issue? Is there a brand of CD-R's that I could use that are thinner, and won't stick? Thanks!

I don't know if this will help you or not, but some CD players have a problem reading burned discs because of the format of the disc itself. I had this problem with a Sony 10 disc changer. Some of my CD's would work and others would skip and some wouldn't play. I would also look as to what speed you burned the discs at (the lower the speed, the better the burn quality) I would suggest (if you like downloadable music) to get an ipod with the Griffin iTrip. It works great in my LS and no more CD's to carry along.

I have an 03 with NAV and have never had a problem. I know some of the cheaper CD's won't work in some players, or it may have something to do with how you are bnurning them.

What kind of discs are you using and are you burning as WAV files?

There was a warning post card that was sent to LS owner on this issue about a year ago.
It's as you suspected, it's the thickness of the CD's
especially home made one with labels on them.
the FLM said to use CD without any labels.
even with that, mine still gets stuck time to time.
let it cool and it will come out.
CD's get pretty hot and not sure if that's hot enough to cause increase in size of the CD allowing them to get stuck.
just shove another CD in the take it out, that cause stuck CD to pop right out.

Thanks everyone! I'll try a combination of different (thinner) discs, and different burn rates. If this doesn't work, I guess I'll have to resort to buying CD's again, instead of downloading.

How does the Griffin iTrip interface with the car's strereo? Thanks.

I have a 2003 V8 Sport with the Navigation 6 Disc. I've started getting an error message "A100" CD Error.
The player will then freeze up and not play / eject / until I turn the key off and open a door to stop the retained power.
I've been able to open the door, and it won't even close when it happens.
After I restart the car, it will usually close - and sometimes begins playing.
Any thoughts beside taking it to the dealer? I'm playing "store bought" CD's.
Thanks - Mike

The Griffin iTrip is an FM transmitter that plugs into your iPod where normally the headphones would. The thing works great. I have never had a problem with mine and it sounds just like a CD (or as close as you can get). You can even put it in your center console (armrest) so it is out of site and it STILL works. I highly suggest it.

there is an ipod controller out there that interfaces witht he steering controls and treats the ipod as a CD jukebox. I am searching for the thread on multiple sites.
