CDC Grilles are here...at least my first two anyway.

Well, I was able to get a hold of two CDC body kits for CHEAP!! One was the Silver Frost and the other was Black. Both kits were pre-painted from CDC. Now I know why those kits were so expensive. The Silver Frost kit is sold but I'm working to part out the black kit. However, each kit came with the upper and lower mesh grille. I'm now the proud owner of two sets of grilles.

I plan to use these as templates to produce the grilles for my website. I've already got a company lined up to make the bottom plastic piece that the upper grille sets in. Now I just need to find a company that has the correct size mesh. I plan to rename these grilles to the LSK grilles. I will probably offer the entire grille which will include the top part minus the emblem. It would come black to be painted similar to the McLaren grille.

I'm pretty excited about this and barring any major problems the LSK grilles should be available mid to late summer. Here's a sneek peak of the grilles I got today:

nice very nice. how much do you think they will be also do you have any pics or does anyone have any. how much did you get them for and what years do they fit.
 
Those look nice, I want one, but don't have any money left.

Do you use the stock chrome piece from your existing grill on top?

ya cant ask someone how much they got them for and then how much they are going to sell them for? well, you can ask, just dont expect them to tell. and if they do tell, dont expect it to be the truth!! LOL!!! :N

anywho... im not too sure i like it. looks kinda cheapy... i'd have to see it installed....

no offense to anyone, just my little ol' personal opinion, i dont think anything but a vertical grill is right for this lincoln. it just doesnt look like a lincoln any other way...mesh/horizontal/whatever... i like the vertical grille personally. yeah, some people have different grilles that DO LOOK GOOD, but its just looking less like a lincoln... :L

let the bashing begin. :(

Right now pricing is a little premature. I'm hoping to keep the cost of the grille below $150 but that all depends on the cost of the mesh and the production of the lower plastic piece. This grille will fit any year LS and you would have to re-use your top chrome piece. However, I'm working with the company that will produce the bottom piece to replicate the top chrome piece. It won't be chrome but it will black plastic like the McLaren grille. Here's a couple of pics with the grilles on:

I don't remember if it was here or over at LLSOC, but I saw a picture of an installed stainless mesh grille that looked very nice, like the ones Jaguar puts on the R models. I think the mesh was a heavier gauge that GrayGhost's grilles above, though.
 
There's a member over at LLSOC and here that has the grille already installed. The mesh I have is the exact same as pictured on the red LS. However, on the red LS the mesh is powder coated. What I have is just stainless.
 
Its been so long since Ive seen these CDC grilles I was starting to think none existed anymore. Would any of the grilles pictured be up for sale?

Not at this time. I'm using them as prototype templates for now. However, it won't be long until they'll be available for sale.
 
That is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO money!!! That's EXACTLY what I've been wanting (except I don't have the LSE lower bumper, so that's another story).

Do you think there's any way to make a mesh lower grill for the regular old LS (00 model)????

When they do go on sale, I'm in!
 
I'll offer a lower piece for the regular LS grille as well. As for availability, once I get back all the prototypes and make sure it will be good to go I'll start taking orders. It may take a month or so before I get everything back.

Man, keep me posted. I didn't expect you to say that you were going to make regular LS mesh lower grills too! I'm definitely going to be in now!

To be on the safe side around mid Summer. However, if all the vendors cooperate nicely then hopefully sooner.
