I just got done changing the plugs in my 2001 LS (thanks for all the info on the site, couldn't have done it without you) but now I have a CEL with a code P1409 "EGR Vacuum Regulator circuit malfunction". I called my local dealer, but they didn't want to help, unless I wanted to waste $90 for them to plug in and tell me what I already knew. Does anyone know what I need to fix to get rid of this? The car seems to run fine ( I have to get back and forth to work). I'm going to disconnect the battery and see if it'll reset first. My second step is going to be replace the EGR transducer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you didn't crack one of the vacuum hoses in the area around the drivers side valve cover. I know there are plenty on that side (I had them strung all over the place trying to keep them out of my way doing the VCG's on my car). Be sure they're all plugged into where theyre supposed to be too. There's a diagram on the bottom side of the hood (should be) that shows which part each hose leads to.

Turned out to be something stupidly simple. I had left one of the electrical plugs off wayyyy in the back by the firewall. Plugged it back in and everything is back to normal.
