Has anyone any experience or can help me in changing the lash adjuster/hydraulic tappets on a 2005 navigator.

I live in the UK and bought the Navi a few years back with just over 40K on the clock, and ive been using it alot for work and travelling with my hobby and have clocked it up to 105K, its still in perfect condition and runs like a dream and is my little baby, over the last 10K the lash adjusters have become noisy in both banks.

I keep up regular oil changes with premium oils and filters, and I have flushed the engine to make sure its not a top end oil pressure block/problem, and the oil is always clean.

So I have now bought a set of lash adjusters to fit on both banks, from reading about I have read that there is a tool that will compress the vavle springs to enable them to be removed and changed without taking off the heads.

But I want to be sure that this tool will do the job before I start stripping it down, also if anyone has this page of the workshop manual for both left and right banks, that would be appreciated as ive lost my disc.

The tool I found was this one,

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...LA01&sid=IDx20070921x00003c#descriptionAnchor

Which shows as universal, and I have read on other forums that people have used it for navi's with the 2v and 4v engines, but none mentioned with the 3v

Anyone any idea or had experience in changing these on the 3v without taking the heads off ?
