my check engine light is on and i ran the code po135 i changed the o2 sensor on bank 1 the first one on the exhaust , and cleared the code . and after i drove the car 20 miles the light came back on. and i need to have the car inspected for emissions, i can only get 3 incomplete monitors total , but after i clear the p0135 code , it resets averything back to 5 incomplete monitors, what can i do to fix this problem. ant haelp out there guys. plaeasw respond back.

No idea man, I'm dealing with the same issue right now. As for your E test I would stop somewhere close and unhook the battery for a couple minutes to clear it. Then have them do the test. Should be enough time to get thru it if you need more time. Also try posting it up in the anything goes section, you will get alot more input as conti owners are a minority on this site.

Guess the code refers to the preheat in the o2 sensor.

A code P0135 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

•O2 Heater element resistance is high
•Internal short or open in the heater element
•O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
•open or short to ground in the wiring harness
Possible Solutions•Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
•Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)

You probably knew that already. Are you positive you changed bank 1 and not bank 2? If you did replace bank 1 and it came back up it might be a wire short in the harness so some people say. Bank 1 is the front of your engine, so it will be the pipe wraping around the block towards the passenger side when your under of it. It will be the only o2 sensor mounted on the top of a pipe, all the others are on the sides.

My bad I were wrong again, bank 1 is the back of the engine. So you need to change the one that up behind the back of the engine. Sorry about that.

02 sensor "please reread guys that responded"
