I just bought my first Mark VIII bought a month ago. Its a pearl white 97lsc. I went down to Missouri and picked it up. The car ran perfectly fine when i got it and still does. I just notice the other day that on the control center it looked like someone had used a black magic marker to cover up the check engine light. So i took it out and replaced the light. Ever since I did that this beeping sound comes on when i start the car. The sound only stays on for like 30seconds, then it stops. It didnt do that when i got it until i replaced that light. After i replaced the light the check engine light was now on so i took it up to Autozone to see what was wrong. The codes were P1414 and P0411. They both have to deal with the air injection system. The guy at autozone was tellin me that it was the air compressor for the air ride, but the car dont have air ride anymore. Also if it was the air ride compressor wouldnt you have to test it through the suspension tester? I dont think he knew what he was talking about.

Any input is appreciated

I was wondering if there was a way to delete the smog(air injection stuff) cause i dont need it. If there isnt a way i do have a smog pump off a 94 that i wont be using. I bet it wont work but you guys know more about these cars than i do.

If you get a tune, it can be turned off. Also, I don't think the smog pump from an ODB1 Mark will work. You will need to get a smog pump from a 96 or above.
