i have an 03 LS V8. check engine light came on. Codes read at Advance, bank 1 O2 sensor 2, bank 2 O2 sensor 2. Replaced both O2 sensors and light went out. 2 days later back on. Same codes... had them cleared, 2 days later back on.....had them checked and cleared yesterday came on again last night. whats up with that? any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Just installed 2 Motorcraft sensors ($117 each) instead of the Bosch O2 sensors from Advance. Had codes cleared... less than 12hrs later ck engine light back on..... Im sure its the same codes as before......

might be wireing.... ? i put bosh in mine all 4 of them. and the CEL went off
I have the same car and my problem was the check engine light, intermittent rough idle, and intermittent hesitation...and to find out was engine coils and clogged egr valve. There is a extended campaign from FORD that covered the bad coils and spark plugs under warranty for all vehicles up to 100K. Cleaning the egr valve was not...only replacing and ofcourse dealer recommended cleaning only. For now my problem is gone.

I know that on my car, before I bought it, one of the cats was replaced. If I remember right, "sensor 2" would be the one AFTER the cat. Maybe you've got clogged cats? How does the car run?

Does it say the banks are too lean or too rich?

have you been refilling your k&n filter? could be you didn't let it dry long enough and you've got the solution in your intake? i don't know i read that somewhere....
took it to Lincoln yesterday. O2 sensors fine.... spent 3 hours on their computer. They feel it is a wiring problem or ecm. Im hoping for ECM cause its covered under the 8yr/80,000 warranty. I believe is a ECM problem cause they can make it trigger the light while driving it and their computer hooked up monitoring it. Its back today at Lincoln.....

that's funny, I got an 03 also and my check engine light just came on about 2 weeks ago. I took it in to the dealership and came back as being the egr valve needin to be replaced. I have the extended warranty, but not the "premium" one so, it aint covered. The dealership quoted me 300$, but if I remember correctly it sells at RockAuto for around 100$. I'm just gonna clean it up see if it clears out and if not order a new one... Good luck!

Well got it back and $400 later the wiring was rubbing on the exhaust flange they re-routed it and wouldnt you know.... no more check engine light.... drove it for more than 2 days no light..... hope it stays off......
