I have been getting these codes but is seems never at the same time.

For the P2197 i switched drivers and pass 02 sensors the see if the code switches sides to diagnose if it is just a bad 02 Sensor. This was just yesterday and the 0430 code came back without the P02197 so far

And i believe the 0430 could be the downstream sensor on the Pass side. Edit, Joegr Believes its the drivers side catalyst)
I did try removing those but after two hours messing with PB blaster, breaker bar, and warming the car up I have been unable to do anything but start to strip it...

Anyway my real question is that I am slightly confused why I do not seem to be getting both of those codes at the same time. Is that at all meaningful? And does that combination of codes give any other indication of the real issue?

Thanks!

P2197 is driver's side, front sensor. However, it may not be the sensor.
P0430 is the driver's side catalyst. However it may not be the catalytic converter (but probably is).

(Bank 1 = passenger side, bank 2 = driver's side)

Ah thanks. So does it make sense to still try to swap the downstream sensor first?
