Nice!

How did you deal with the compass? isnt it located back there and thrown off by the magnets in the speakers?

Haven't checked to see if the compass works or not... LOL... But thanks for reminding me, I'll check it out when I get in the car next

I ziptied mine out of the way, but never checked to see if it still worked LOL. Does the orientation matter?

Eh, probably if you're long distance traveling... but I'm only goin on 17, so I don't need to worry about that.... yet.

Although I might go to Carlisle this summer, if my parents approve...

I use my compass alot -- not sure why, but I pay attention to it for some reason...........

I have had as many as 3 10's in my trunk right under the compass, and have NEVER had a problem with the compass.....>EVER!

I rememebr someone else having the problem before, which is why I asked.

I FINALLY remembered to check the compass... when I push the button, a message something like: "CIRCLE SLOWLY TO CAL" comes up, would anyone know what the hell that means?

that means you confused the compass.........

go to an empty parking lot and do as it says -- It might come back --- otherwise the magnets on the subs are screwing with the compass and will have to be moved if you want that compass to work......

:N TOLD YA RAY!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I never said that it was not possible....I just said that I never had that problem.....and still do not....I have 2 10's back there just under the compass and not a problem....but I also do not care, and do not use the thing....I really see no use in it..... :N :N

actually, you ahve a point cause I ahve like no use for the compass, but just am not happy if it isnt up there --- I dunno. I almost always know what direction I'm going in naturally....... It has no useful purpose for me, but I still need it there.

I know, im friggin strange. Nothing new there.

I want to install a nice amp and some 6x9's I have. But I beleive like in the 1st Gen Marks, it is a real bear to bypass the amp or run a parallel with it. If I tell you guys what I have to install, can you give me some guidance if it is doable or not? Thanks.

Its very doable and easy. Heres a whole listing of wiring connectors and harnesses (JBL and Prem), although I am not sure which ones to use. Most likely the FD07. http://www.scosche.com/scosche/connectors/ford-premium.asp Also, where were you putting the 6x9s?? Our cars have 5x7s in them in case u didn't know.

When i worked at best buy, and we had to do a mark8 with a car phone and jbl it was a %^$#. I mean on her period, mother in law coming over house is dirty with five drunk friends over and i just woke up.

No harnesses, laying in the trunk trying to reach the harness to solder and tape, glad im done there.

I swear to god those women get ballzy when its just you and the mother in law. I bet she woke up drunk they day she found out she was pregnanty but gives you hell about a little fun on the weekend. I dont hit women but i think they want you too. My gf's mom when i first me her said "thats the best your ever gonna do so you better stick with it"

My god it took every ounce of man in me to not lay that woman on her @$$!!!!!!

I think we are straying just a little off topic. LOLOL How in the world does that happen? ROFL

So how does the new system work? I bet it is nice!!

I've been real pleased with it... The new head unit made the stock JBL speakers sound WAY better. The subs are real thumpy and hit pretty hard just the way I like it.... Although, I took the amp off the back of the box and have it just sorta sitting in my trunk now, and sometimes the power wire comes loose and won't stay in the the little socket... so I just busted out some electrical tape and that solved the problem... temporarily at least. But the one thing that I find kinda wierd, my friend has the same exact subs but only a 400 watt amp in his Eclipse, but his sounds louder, being mine is 750 watts... not sure if it's just me.... could be that his car is a hatchback and mine is muffled a little bit from the huge trunk...but I think mine sounds a little more clear.... but I still don't have a problem going through town and having every single person on the sidewalk turn and look. :D

Compass And SUB BOX

I need a fix I can't move the sub box anywhere else other then right underneath where that compass sits. Any other work arounds?

I have 2 12 in subs in the back ...

someone should make something to put above the headunit, where the plastic install piece is....like mabey, something that says

LINCOLN(with the lincoln star next to it on the right)

It may be a thing with the TWO subs? Like a magnetic field flux anomaly between the two subwoofers? A gauss meter would be an interesting tool to use to diagnose this.

FWIW I had a 250 watt amp with a 300 watt 12 inch single sub in a sealed enclosure and no problems with the compass. I upgraded to a monster 600 watt 12 inch sub in the same enclosure and (so far) don't have any issues with the compass. Can't wait to crawl back in there and replace that amp with a 900 watt amp that I'm going to detune to about 450 watts. :headbang:
