Choosing a Muffler

Everyone always asks about performance mufflers and power -vs- noise. The charts used in this article are from the December 2003 issue of "5.0 Mustang and Super Fords" magazine. Although all the dyno runs were done on a 5.0 Mustang, the results comparison is still extremely usefull.

I have heard some dicussions on the Magnaflow and the Borla systems. What about a custom exhaust system? Any thoughts? I had a shop here in town make a custom system for '66 Mustang Fastback 2+2 289 Hi-Po I had. What kind of muffler would you have them put on it (tubro, etc.)? Just a thought...
