I was just wondering if anyone has installed chrome valve stems to match their chrome wheels? Seems to me a regular black rubber valvestem would look out of place installed on a nice chrome or polished wheel.

Are chrome valve stems commonly available at tire stores, or are they a specialty item? If I get a new LS with chrome wheels, this is one thing I'd like to change.

Thanks for the insights.

They should stock them at the tire store. I had new chrome rims put on my parent's Explorer and the tire place asked it I wanted chrome or black so they stocked them and I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. For sure go with chrome valve stems adds a cleaner look.

I have had them on my last 5 - 6 tires changes. The tire shop puts them on when I swap rubber.

Thanks Lou. Have you had any issues with imbalance on the wheels due to the bit of extra weight? And do you prefer full chrome stems over metal sleeves that go on top of the rubber stems?
