Classic motoring films now free on the web
http://www.auto-history.tv

Universal Motoring History has turned its comprehensive film archive into a free online motoring history resource for all serious car enthusiasts. The archive consists of more than 500 classic films from around the world from the 1890s onwards and can now be viewed for free 24 hours a day at http://www.auto-history.tv

The complete collection covers everything from the start of mass production to world land speed record runs, car commercials, motor shows, new car launches, the evolution of car design, experimental cars, flying cars, famous drivers, stunt driving, unusual mili:qtary machines and much more. There’s also extensive racing footage from the “golden age” of motor racing from circuits such as Le Mans, Indianapolis and Monte Carlo, as well as films featuring bygone hill climbs and stock car racing.

The archive has been accumulated over many years from numerous sources, including motor manufacturers, government departments, military organizations, film and TV pro:qduction companies and elsewhere. A significant number of the films, most of which are between two and 10 minutes in length, have largely remained unseen for more than 50 years and were previously thought to have been lost or destroyed.

The recently revamped web site also includes other useful free resources such as a comprehensive timeline of motoring history, as well as photographic display. The site also contains an extensively stocked online shop selling a huge range of products geared to anyone with an interest in motor cars, past and present.

Good job!

Great find Calabrio! Good work for all us gearheads. I'll be checking these out. I spent several years in England as a kid, going to Races at Silverstone, Goodwood, Spa, Rheims and Le Mans to see F1 and sports car races. I've got pics of me at 10 years old standing taller than the roof of the GT40's at Silverstone.
My dad and I watched the movie "Grand Prix" being filmed in 1965 and 66 at a couple of different tracks using GT40's as camera cars. There's one sceen in it where my dad and I are siting under a blanket in the rain when the cmaera car went by.
I've seen Jim Clark, Dan Gurnee, Phil Hill, Jochim Rindt, Jackie Stewart, Carrol Shelby, Mark Donhue, Mario Andretti and lots of others in person.
I saw the original Mini Coopers race and watched the Lemans cars go by at 220 at Mulsanne.
These old films ought to be cool!

OMG...there goes my Sat.

I can spend hours on tha site....and will thanks for the post !
