i have a 2001 ls and a friend of mine decided to lose his lunch in it last night. i cannot seem to get it off of the cloth on the pillar where the seatbelt is attached. Is there any tricks or good products i could possibly use to remove this? thanx for the help.

Try Resolve stain remover. My dog ate a piece of charcoal and threw it up on my living room carpet. Took it right out.

Any good upholstery cleaner should work to take it out. Many cleaners are designed for baby spit-ups, so they work on this sort of stain. My one piece of advice would be to not let the area get too wet (e.g., try to avoid soaking the material). If the material gets too wet it may leave a water stain. Go slowly with a bit of cleaner followed by a damp sponge. Alternate between cleaner and damp sponge until the stain is removed. Good luck.

ToddG I thought for sure you were gonna say "are you sure you want to try this yourself?" and recommend he take it to a professional

Well you thought wrong.

I like Griots Garage upholstery cleaner. I had water stains from a sun roof on my old SHO that would not come out. Used Griots and the stain came out and the headliner looks new.

A little expensive but that stuff works very well and doesn't harm the fabric.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

What about getting stains out of seatbelts? Cola & coffee? I bought mine used and they were there, haven't tried getting them out yet.

The trick with seatbelts is that you do not want to weaken the material through the cleaning process. That means no harsh cleaners. I'd try a mild cleaner, like Armor All's All Purpose cleaner and a soft brush. Hopefully that will do it.

most manuals recommend just soap and water on seatbelts as not to weaken the webbing. In fact many cleaners will cause the fine threads to "fray" so I'd try soap and water first.
