Yes.... most use the term ppf (paint protection film) there are multiple manufacturers and a multitude of installers...
That being said the only film I would touch is the 3M produced stuff, they have had multiple generations of this film, the first being known for turning yellow and sucking
That being said their current film is very high quality and is self healing to an extent.
This stuff does work, but it is VERY hard to install well, and your paint should be corrected (buffed) prior to install as every defect below the film with show through the film.

I've never tried it but it it's like most "clear" products then it will probably turn yellow after a few years or less.
