I went out and must have got all the wheel cleaners out there, but I found that nothing ever works better than this stuff. Multi Purpose Windex. Anyone else tried it out? It works really well but I was wondering about useing it to clean my car. I used it here and there on nice days as a touch up after a pudle or something and it works great there to but will it hurt in the end to use it all the time as a staple cleaner? I use it on a set of 20" TSW Hyper Black Carlton's with the biggest finished lip for this car, and sometimes I dont wax them or polish them at all and it shines better than anything. Sometimes I even squirt it into the weather stripping and others and go over with a thick soft rag and it lifts out any wax left behind ( that anoying stuff when you dont have time) with out any harm.

Tell me what you guys think...
Thanx in advance..Jay

I had a guy tell me one time to use it in this order. Tire cleaner (Black magic, etc.), wipe off excess to ensure a good even coat, let dry, then go back over it with windex glass cleaner. Said your tires would shine twice as long and would resist dirt, grime and build up longer. I always hate how you clean your tires with a cleaner, then after 2 days their still shinny, but have dirt and road grime all over them.....I've never tried it out, just for the reason you stated above. I was afraid it would damage the finish on my wheels.

The windex has a lot of ammonia in it and will sit on the surface of the wheel like silicone based dressings. This will leave a deep shine that does last, however this is not good for the rubber. Using products heavy in ammonia and silicone dressings can causes tires to dry out, crack and fade. However if you don't experience these affects or if you go through tires fast enough it might not matter to you. For long lasting results I clean the tire first with the Poorboy's World Bio All Purpose Cleaner (APC) and then use a water based tire dressing. The Poorboy's World Bold n Bright is a great water based dressing that gets absorbed in to the rubber and is good for the tires. It won't last as long as the silicone based dressings. However you don't have to worry about harming the rubber or harmful sling on to the paint. As some people mentioned, a lot of tire cleaners and tire dressings can be bad for wheels too. Just be careful, especially if you have chrome, uncoated or highly polished wheels.

Thanx for the input, I believe it would get rid of the wax but I think that keeping some spray wax on hand durring those summer cruising days can come in handy as long as you dont spray alot of windex on it and rubb of the coating, and as long as you remember its just a touch up in a small area as well. But man they shine my wheels like never before and it lasts. I noticed that you can use it and road grime dont really stick to the wheel, when it does it can just be wiped off with a soft cloth and its just like new, as long as your not in a hurry and make sure there isnt any thing large in the grime, the grime can be abrasive to a point but I think a coat of detail or spary wax keeps it from scratching. If it does scratch, a bit of blue magic gets it out. I used this cause some jerk at the full serv wash used a brush on my wheels when it was to cold for me to wash it my self, you know the brush of death the car washes have. And that black magic crap sucks in my opinion, it never got my wheels clean like the windex does.

I have been using windex for more years than I would like to count.
It is the one product that does chrome justice.
I , contrary to some people's beliefs, use it daily as a spritz on my pickup.
Just spray it on, and wip it off with a dry ,soft rag.
The shine is incredible.
The mark v also got the windex treatment about three times a week.
That talk about it ruining the paint is a crock of bull.
Look at the shine on the wheels and body.
There is nothing finer than a windex shine.
Click on these two links to see what the results of using windex are all about.
