I have a clicking noise coming from the front of my 98. It only stops when I apply the brakes, even just lightly. It seems to increase with speed. Any ideas?

do u have coils or air springs? if u have coils its the shocks that are going bad i had the same issue

I will double check to see if the prev owner did a mod, but I am pretty sure air springs.

Wheel bearing, loose lug nuts, warped rotor, bad brake pads, sticking caliper.

Just a few things to inspect.

rust between the rotor and the hub. if you had the wheels off and then the noise started after than id put money on it. pick the front end up and spin the front tires while looking at the caliper from under the car. i bet you see it moving back and forth. the click noise is the caliper moving back and forth following the untrue rotor. if it dont move than id say warped rotor with non lubed pad/caliper slides. what ever it is its brake related

I cleaned the rust from the rotors and brakes and thought everything was good. After a few days the clicking noise now sounds more like a banging. Louder when I turn right, lower when I turn left. It's definitely coming from the front left tire. Anyone have this problem before? Any ideas?

Jack the wheel up, and do your checks..plenty of info on this in "search"

The problem is a stuck caliper pin. I have tried every chemical and tool I can think of to get this pin out. Still stuck in.

well you were in the area of the problem if the noise went away when you messed with it. you cleaned all the rust on the inside of the rotor hat and on the mating surface on the wheel bearing/hub?

I replaced the rotors and pads. Freed up a stuck caliper pin and no more noise. Hammered and pried the pin didn't work so I soaked it in pb for a few hours and hammered some more. A Good pair of vice grips got the job done.
