I bought a 2003 lincoln ls from an auction. radio was missing, not a big deal but ONLY Half of the climate control panel with the seat warmers on the front panel dash bpard was lighted! Is there a fuse to light the other side or is the climate control damaged and needs to be replaced?

Thanks,

Craig

Either the DATC (climate control) is damaged, or the wiring going to it is damaged or disconnected. If you're really lucky, they just didn't reconnect one or both connectors to the DATC when they reinstalled it after removing it to remove the radio. (This is if I correctly understand what you are saying. Are you saying that the whole climate control display is blank? If not, then it's a bad DATC.)

Only half of the display screen is lighted up. Like the passenger controls for the heated seats and what not. The driver side has no lighted side. Do you have email?

Still not clear. Are you talking about the backlighting behind the buttons? (If so, it could just be a bulb.) Or are you talking about the Vacuum fluorescent display? (Where the temperatures are displayed and some other info.) Could you post a picture?

Is the vacuum fluorescent display completely blank?

what is the "vacuum fluorescent display"? If you mean the digital numbers that displays the temperature in the vehicle, then yes! As in the pic, only the passenger side has lights but even still they do not work!?!?

I think that we have clearly established that your DATC has an internal fault and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Just for the record...
The vacuum fluorescent display is the greenish rectangle in the middle that displays interior and exterior temperatures and has symbols for airflow, seats on auto, blower speed, and so on.
The backlighting is just that, the legends on the buttons that light up when the headlights are on.
I think that what you have been really saying is that the annunciators on the right side aren't lighting.

BTW, those aren't just "seat warmers." Those are heated and cooled seats, and they can be set to automatically heat and cool as needed.

OK brotha thanks a lot! Going to go buy the above item in the next 2 days from a second hand store and will let you know...

The side mirrors also do not work if you have any input. That has to be a blown fuse right?

No, it does not have to be. It could be the mirror switch, the memory module, wiring, fuse, or the mirrors themselves. Please note that if the fuse is blown, fuses don't just fail. Some wiring or other electrical fault would have caused the fuse to blow, and that too would have to be found and fixed.

^^^^THIS!!!!

fuses don't just blow after time and need to be replaced!

blown fuses mean you have another problem that needs to be fixed first, otherwise the fuse is just gonna blow again...

You were right about the climate control. Turned right on!
What would you suggest I do about the mirrors? Maybe when the previous owner ripped out the dash they blew the fuse. The switch on the door moves properly!

The switch being moveable doesn't establish much. The driver's side mirror is driven by the DDM (Driver's Door Module), and the passenger side mirror is driven by the FEM (Front Electronics Module).
Does either mirror respond to either of the two memory settings?
It looks like the only things that both mirrors have in common are the control switch and fuse 2.07 (kick panel fuse box).

Neoither mirror responds to anything! What would be your first suggestion, take off the passenger side kick panel and replace the "2.07" fuse?

You can check the fuse. I'd pull the switch out and do some voltage checks there first.

Common transmission problems.

So the car always had a problem with acceleration, now the tranny is shot! The "E" came on as well as the check transmission display. It will shift in gear but will only moves in the lowest Drive position.
