Just installed a new OEM clockspring on my 2002. Air bag light is off, but the steering wheel is clicking at the half turn position. Since its all snap together I can't imagine I made an installation mistake, but I have years of data that say I'm less than perfect. Anybody else experience any installation gotcha's with one? Thought it might be a wire I dressed the wrong way, but it sounds more like a plastic click. And quite noticeable, not subdued.

check the steering column cover. If it's not seated correctly the seam will protrude a little bit and rub against the back of the steering wheel and will result in a click when it snaps back down.

Bingo!! Tracked it down with a stethoscope. Don't know where it was rubbing, but pushing the covers around while I tightened the screws fixed it. Thanks. Saved me from fussing at the dealer for selling me a defective part.
