Having some issues here that hopefully someone else has experienced. It all started when I was replacing the lower control arm on my 95 Mark Viii. After I was done, I lowered my car off the jack stands and the starter sounded weak while cranking. It took me a good two tries to get it started but after it was fine and dandy for a few month. Fast forward to last week, I parked the car as I went into the grocery store and when I came back the car would just clunk. Sounded like the car wanted to turn over but the engine was locked up. I went down and was slightly hitting the starter to see if it did the trick and got nothing. I removed the starter and took it to the local parts store to have it tested and they said it failed. Replaced it with one and I had the exact same problem, just clunks. Engine turns over by hand so I know it is not locked up. The car did start to have the torque converter problem that causes very bad vibrations in lower gears before shifting. Any thoughts? Thanks guys!
