hey i just got done putting a cobra intake on my 97 mark and it seems that the brakes are really soft. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. It seems that they are soft all the time, not just at low speeds. I couldn't even get the brakes to lock up going from 60 to a dead stop.

On another site I saw that this is a common issue. According to what was posted, a fella remarked that Ford had put a Hydroboost set up to help make up the difference. He reported that the brakes are really bad in parking lots.
This Cobra owner said the Hydroboost was because of the lack of space in the engine compartment. It could have been both reasons.

( Hydorboosted; Boosted with pressure from the power steering pump, compared to vacuum assist. This allows for more pressure in the system.)

checked out that website and it seems that brakes are a common problem, so i guess on to the next problem-no low end. My buddies got a set of 3.73's he would sell me real cheap. Are they going to be tall enough or should i just go buy some 4.10's? I'm running 265/35/18 tires.

From the general consensus that I have read on this site, I choose to go w/ 4.10s. No, I have not installed them yet, the garage is host to a MN-12 for the time being. AZ highway speed limits are 75mph and w/ my tire size, I have a little room before the IMRCs open up. I felt this was the best choice for me as I will be doing both city and highway driving.
I believe with the deeper gears I ought to have a good torque multiplier for my needs.
