Got an '88 Mark VII Bill Blass (whodathunk 88m7bb) that I bought from a 90 year-old-man who says he always kept it in a garage and says he never drove it in winter. It looks it. He had strutmaster coil springs put on the front. Now, my rear bags, that are original, have completely deflated for whatever reason. (The compressor will not work since this happened.) The previous owner obviously had a problem with the front air bags or he never would have replaced them with coil springs.

I'm wondering if I should go to all the expense of replacing the air suspension from Strutmaster or same/similar (Arnott, etc.) or just putting on coil springs for the rear, too. What are the differences? The differences in ride and the differences between all the replacement companies?

I'm a very new Mark VII owner and don't know too much about them other than I've always thought they were about one of THE most gorgeous rides ever and they also are notorious for having air suspension problems.
Well, I got both.

Howdy! :Beer

Well, you gotta weigh the differences and find which is most attractive to you and your budget and/or time.

The ride quality is virtually the same if you go with an Arnott or Struttmaster system.
The whole airspring-ride quality is :bsflag: IMHO.

Replacing an air spring is relatively EZ compared to a bit of work/tools/etc.. in converting to coils.

New air springs are about $75 each, I think. Coils are about $150-$175 per front/back set. But coils will last the life of your vehicle. If you plan on keeping it, coil conversion is the way to go... :wrench

(The prices listed are assuming that you do all the work yourself).

Hope this helps you decide.
