So Ive been shopping around getting some coil overs made for the ls If I do get a company to make them, would this be a item other people would want?

Also I came across some for a 2006-2009 MKZ, my question is how diffrent is the non AWD MKZ from a LS. I know its a long shot, but I was wondering if there wouldnt be to much work to make them fit the LS...

I just got the spec sheet..Im way out of my element on this and what he needs, if anyone is better at reading spec sheets and the right measurements can you please let me know.
 
Coil-overs

I'd be happy to help with this.

For an alternate approach, please see the parts of 'Land Speed LS' that deal with coil-overs. My Konis are setting on my workbench; it'll be necessary to make upper mounts to fit, and acquire the proper bushings to mount the lower ends.

what are he Konis originally for, I have been searching for coil overs that have the same general design as ours for months.
 
Although Koni makes specific shocks for some applications, mine simply came out of the catalog under generic racing shocks.

I originally acquired them for another project, and chose them for having both complete adjustability and the longest stroke available. Since the LS is a significantly heavier car than the original purpose, they need to go back to Koni's race shop to be re-valved. Since they are completely rebuildable, that's no problem.

That swap sounds still sounds good to me just seems a little lower than eibachs.
 
MKIII Supras, the rear bottom shock mount is only 1mm wider than the Lincs rear shock, i measured. Dont know about lengths or anything like that yet. im gonna take the Lincs rear out in the a.m. and compare.

i was looking at TEIN Super Street Coilovers because you re-use your stock top shock mount plates. Every other coilover kit ive seen has 3 studs on the top plate, the LS needs a 4 stud top plate.

So far ive only seen the MKIII Supra being the most similar looking shock to the LS as far as shock mounts and spring location go.

TEIN SS coilovers average bout $1000 but its still 2grand cheaper than buying Jag coilovers
 
Other than adjustable ride height, what are the benefits of these aftermarket coilovers vs the set of $600 Bilstien shocks/$300HR Springs for the S Type?
 
you don't adjust the ride height, you adjust the preload on the spring, which changes how it will act in corners and in braking and launching situations. Some shocks have adjustable dampers with remote mount gas resivoirs, and some have adjustable valves, which changes how the gas moves through the damper.

So when looking at dampers/shocks you need to look at what kind of driving do you want to do, because for average or even heavy hard road driving the stock sport shocks seem more than fine.

Out side of adjustability, there is not much of a difference. Both will offer a better ride, some will be built better, some have more adjustablility, some are easier to adjust. but because there are so many companies out there it more product preferance.
 
We had a set of custom LEDAs coil-overs on the One-Lap-Of-America LS... $600 a corner.
