Thanks for Max for getting them out ASAP!!! Now...

Can anyone give me some tips/pointers on replacing these?? I'm going to be replacing #1,2,4,6, and 7. Pics and schematics would be handy. Thanks guys!!!

pm your email address and i will fire some materials off to you.

You will be happy they are in. How are the plugs?

PM sent, thanks man!!!!

I'm going to do the plugs also, probably just a champion or something that I can get locally. Not the cheapest, but I'm NOT falling for the Bosch +4 platinum scam. :D

I think someone said the motorcraft plugs were manuf by NGK so you might do well buying them.

The rule of thumb though is good clean plugs are the best the rest is just souped up jazzy frills.

I did buy the denso plugs for mine but I did so becasue I hope to get some longer life from them. The V6 is a PITA, paint in the :q , to do plug changes on.

Well now that I have had to crakc the egg open a few times it wont be so bad but back them I was a babe in the forest.

That's what I found. I have always had bad luck with Champion also. If you are going to get cheap, you could use the Autolite 3924.

hahahha...I have such a bad sinus/ear infection, I can't think straight, so who knows what I am really typing.

I used the Motocraft Platinums. The dealer was short one when I did this last tune-up, so I temporarily threw in a 3924 I had laying around that I pulled out of my wife's car when I did her tune-up. The copper plugs just don't last that long (it looks from these plugs) with that potent COP.

We all pick and choose. I have no wish to put synthetic oil in my car, but I don't mind spending the extra money for the platinums.

it really does come down to just being consistent with your maintenance. I am sure there are some worthless parts out there which is wh it is always best to ask around. I defintely do not buy into the 100k mile tune up recommended by fomoco. Unless somehting happens sooner I will begin doing my tune ups every 20k miles but I will not use denso plugs next time. I'll more than likely use some bottom shelf motorcraft plusg.

Just curious, are the coils anything special, or just a maintanence item?

On our cars they seem to be a maintanence item. Ford has gone through about 4 versions, so maybe the latest version will last longer. Until recently, you could find them in quite a few auto parts stores, but now the older part number show out of stock or discontinued. Still not hard to find, just not quite as cheap.

my car was misfiring, nd i told my mechanic, its the coils. so he replaces the seal and all of the boots. then it was still misfiring and it got worse then the check engine light went on. come to find out 2 and 8 were out! its nice to have a good running car now.

do you think the rest will be going soon? el es.. can you send me the installation guide also?

I would but i am out at disney today and tomorrow. PM me your email address and i will send whenigte back or maybe fastbird can send them. It is hard to predict when they will go bad plus the work involved you might want to just do them all at once.

Once you get into it a time or two, it is really a snap. I am just replacing as needed. It sounds like the v6 is a PITA, but the v8 job isn't bad once you figure out how to get the back bolt out on the driver's side. $450 here $450 there, it goes pretty quick in these cars, I am finding out.

my dad had a 98 navigator and he said that the ac drip right on the coils, is that the problem with the LS?

No. Oil can flood the spark plug wells when the seals go bad though.
