I want to get some extra low end power and was thinking about putting on a cold air intake. I got a 2004 V6 ls and i was wondering if anyone has that installed on their v6 and if it makes any difference in sound or power

ya it makes a lil bit in power, it adds about 5 hp or suttin? and you can feel it a lil bit when you punch it... it also produces an air sunction sound when you punch it as well, i think it sounds pretty cool... i was thinking about getting rid of mine, so let me know if you are interested in getting one...

I have one on my car and love it....I also Have a second one for sale...Im asking 75 OBO...All you would need is the adapater on the MAF ...I have a filter also....If you want it let me know

You will get more bang for the buck if you do a Magnaflow or Borla cat-back exhaust, about 20 HP for about $700.00. (plus it sounds great!) then add the CAI next. The CAI will make a difference, but at 5hp for the money, you spend more per horse than with the cat back.

well if i did the exhaust, will it be really loud? I have to be some what professional i mean a nice deep tone would be nice but i dont want to rattle the hair off of my client's head. Anyone want to get rid of their coldair intake remember i have An 04 V6. Also, are thereany performance chips that would give me some HP, or what about those cold air chips you can buy on ebay, anyone know?

good point... i dont think there is an CAI for 03+ LS's... you can put on an air filter i think? somebody correct me if im wrong... you can still go with an exhaust system tho

On the 03+ engine they changed alot of stuff. The intake now pulls air from the front of mainfold vice the back like the 00-02's. The exhaust on the 03+ was also tuned to get more horsepower and torque out of it, so a magnaflow cat-back will only get you like 5 horses or something (not worth the $700.00 you will pay for it). Kurtz Kustom Motorsports (KKM) was making an intake kit for the V8 and I think the V6, but you would have to ask Ken about the V6 kit as I haven't seen it on his site yet.

pepboys, here i come. i figure i can get the custom piping and do it myself and drill a bung in the tubing for the sensor, i did it with my last car but i didnt know i needed that sensor so i just cut the wires... that didnt work, go figure.

Ok. ready for a story? i went to my local pepboys and found some parts that i thought would fit. an air filter and a piece that was made to fit the ls's O2 sensor. I get home and take apart my intake and after i realize how large the o2 sensor is, i end up having to modify the part that i bought, 2 hours later i finally get te o2 sensor to fit. Now i go to put on the air filter andonce i do that i see that the filter is too heavy to work and the filter ends hanging down like a speed bag, i lost $40. :q:q:q:q you pepboys.

you need a bracket to hold up the air filter... the CAI sold on lskoncepts.com come with a little bracket that bolts onto the body under the hood and connects the filter so it doesnt dag down...
