cool sh**

And now carmakers just tease us like it's a car lapdance.
I have to laugh how hard GM and Chrysler tried to bring back classic cars and yet FORD is the only one that succeeded. Not to dis on any brands (except you asian car lovers) but I ran into 5 guys at the gym today who all got laid off from CHEVY within 2weeks of eachother. I told them...shoulda stuck with the brand your government uses...Think about it...cop cars....FORD....Taxis....Ford.......even the Hummers are now being replaced by Land Rovers for the military.......sure..some cops/taxis are using other brands...but who's not the minority in this Auto Nation? FORD IS!

AM General just won two huge contracts for Hummers. All of the contracts outstanding for different military vehicles including lightweight tactical and mine resistant armored are being sought by different American companies including AM General. Ford and Land Rover are not on the list. I'm familiar with this portion of it because AM General's headquarters is a block away from my office. They make a lot of local news around here.

As for other stuff I see the new first limo is a Cadillac.

I don't mean to come down on you or anything. I'm just in a mood today for some reason. Probably from all the snow preventing me from my usual driving habits.

By the way, welcome to the forum! :)

Land Rover was sold off last year or the year before. And Crown Vic cop cars are on their way out because Ford hasn't updated them in so long. Dodge is moving in with their specially modified for the popo Chargers. And around here you see way more Impala taxi's than Ford.

Ford sold Jag and Landy to India's Tata in the spring of 2007. IIRC, the deal was finalized and Tata took ownership in May, 2007.

In Oklahoma and north Texas, I've been seeing more Chargers and some Impalas, but I still see many more Crown Vics than anything else. Of course, I'm still seeing some of the old RWD Shamu, err, Caprice black and whites, too.
