Hi All,

Been having coolant leaking issues since June and tired of throwing money at mechanics, so thought I'd come here first.

There was a crack in the reservoir back in June, also had a leaky hose replaced. A couple months later more coolant coming from underneath reservoir area on driver's side. Worked well for a month and a half then coolant still leaking out in the same spot after parking. Sometimes a couple drops, sometimes just pouring out. Took it in again and the mechanic, found a hole in the new factory reservoir at the seam and also leaking where the hose connects. He reclamped the hose and epoxied the hole. Just drove it the mile back from him and it's still pouring out. He said they pressure tested it earlier and it was holding and now I'll have to replace the tank again.

My question is, has anyone else had similar issues? I don't want to keep throwing money into reservoirs and hoses if there's something larger going on causing the tanks to crack and hoses to fail under the pressure, etc. The coolant and oil both look clean and not contaminated as far as potential gasket issues. Not overheating. The engine feels like it could be slightly rougher at idle than I remember but also don't know if that's my head just playing into it at this point. Or if anyone knows a good Lincoln mechanic in NYC area, also helpful.

The Degas bottle can't be patched. It expands and contracts. Guess you just got a bad one, or a mechanic that doesn't really know this car.
The Degas bottle cap regulates pressure to 15 or 16 PSI. There's nothing else that can make the pressure go higher.

Sorry, but apparently you are no exception to all of the rest of us. When this starts, all of the plastic cooling system parts are shot, and all of them need to be replaced at the same time. Otherwise, you will have daily or weekly new leaks until you do. Use factory parts. The aftermarket cooling system parts for this car are crap.

I had the same problem with new bottles cracking. Then I bought a Dorman brand and found it was much thicker in the area where the others were cracking. I'm on 7 months so far without a leak.
