Hi all.

Question: Is there a source (other than ebay or dealerships) for a hydraulic cooling fan pump? Also, the pump looks identical to the power steering pump (minus the actuator) - is there any chance they interchange?

Thanks...

I don't think you understood my question (yes, I saw the $630 pump on Amazon - I could pay the same ridiculous cost at any dealership) - but thanks for the smart-arse response.

no, you were not very clear on your on your question... its always kinda odd when somebody ask where they can get a part when they already know where they can get the part.

I wasn't being a smart ass, that's why I even went as far to ask for more specifics... who knows, maybe you have a thing against dealers and just don't trust ebay (thats been known to happen a few times)

you literally asked if anybody knew a source fro a part other than the two sources you listed, not sure how somebody can not understand that... then I gave you a third and thats not good enough for you.

so then I take it you're asking because you want/expect it to be cheap and you're not finding that to be the case? normally I would say you might want to check out a junk yard, but with the high rate of failure, that's one of the many parts I would only buy new (actually if it was me, I would be converting to electric...)

good luck with your search.

Hey loud.....when are you going to stop being ass? I mean....someone asks a questions and then you give them the answer? How rude can you be?

To the OP, convert to electric if you want to go cheap and reliable. $300 and you are done.

He answered the exact question that was asked, and you consider that to be rude?
(This sort of attitude is why I have decided to answer a lot fewer posts.)

It was just a little sarcasm. The OP called loud a 'smart-arse' for answering his exact question. That was a shot at the OP for being ungrateful to the response he got.

yeah you suck at typing sarcasm Hite!!

Joe/Loud your input is greatly appreciated

OP your OPINION on ridiculous costs is relative.... If you think this these prices are out-of-line, then the aging, non aftermarket, high maintenance car may not be for you (your only scratching the surface on items that are usually cheaper with other cars).

Your real questions should have been "are there cheaper fixes" .. as hite pointed out there are..

But if you think $600 is too much.. wait till you have to start replacing all the plastic about to fail in your cooling system because it has now overheated (educated guess)

GL

How rude can you be?

actually, very... :shifty:

but I would rather not get another thread stricken from the record. I did say I would try to be LESS of an ass, but come on, people cant change over night.

I probably could go back to just being mean without throwing in some help here and there...

yeah you suck at typing sarcasm Hite!!

someone should tell him there is an emoiji for that...

A: Chruch
B: even without the overheat, its a 2000... its ready to blow at any day now!
